Brand story

Why "Parallel"

ParallelHQ is built on one belief: your remote team should feel like they're sitting in the next room, not on another continent.

Our professionals integrate into your business, adopt your processes, communicate with your team, and take ownership of their role, just like an in-house employee. They're not freelancers. They're not temporary assistants. They're your team, working in parallel with you.

Mission

To help businesses scale by providing dedicated professionals who become an extension of their company.

Vision

A future where geography no longer limits hiring, and every business has access to world-class talent that works in complete alignment with their goals.

The model

Three revenue streams, one recurring floor

Permanent placement fees deliver the profit spikes. Temp markup and HR retainers deliver the monthly floor that keeps the business solvent regardless of placement timing.

Recurring

Temp staffing markup

Clients engage VAs on an hourly basis through ParallelHQ. We source, vet, and manage the placement, and bill the client the VA's rate plus our margin. Revenue compounds with every active seat.

20–25% markup on the VA's hourly rate, billed monthly
One-time

Permanent placement fees

For clients who want to hire directly, we run the full recruitment cycle: sourcing, async video screening, background checks, and offer coordination. One fee at hire, calculated on first-year salary.

15% of first-year salary · typically $7,500–$9,000 per placement
Recurring

HR retainers

Ongoing HR support for clients with placed teams: payroll coordination, performance check-ins, replacement coverage, and compliance housekeeping. Predictable revenue, deeper client relationships.

$1,500–$3,000 per client, per month

Financial projections

Six months, three streams, one floor

Projections are conservative. A single permanent placement fee ($7,500–$9,000) in months 2–3 is what flips the model from cost-recovery to profit. Temp VA markup and retainers provide the recurring floor that keeps the business solvent regardless of perm placement timing.

Risk register

Risks, named honestly

The failure modes up front, next to what we're doing about each one.

Permanent placements slip

Mitigation: the model's own design. Temp markup and HR retainers are the recurring floor; the plan stays solvent even if a perm fee lands late. One placement in months 2–3 flips the model to profit, and the Hiring Specialist's 72-hour candidate SLA keeps deal cycles short.

Payroll float on temp seats

Mitigation: VAs are paid after client invoices on aligned billing cycles, contracts include upfront deposits for new clients, and Gusto plus Wise keep payment costs and timing predictable.

Client acquisition stalls

Mitigation: a full-time Lead Gen Specialist working four verticals at once through LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo sequences, so pipeline never depends on a single niche or channel.

Contractor misclassification

Mitigation: counsel-drafted service agreements, contractor payroll run through Gusto for tax compliance, and clean separation between placed-VA relationships and ParallelHQ's own team.
